“BEWARE OF THE PESKY PESTS!”
Nations Investments’ Blog
“Knowledge Is Power”
Recently we posted a Blog regarding “Home Inspections”, and their necessity. In that post we mentioned that while said inspection is most extensive it typically does not include a Termite Inspection! It is, however, important that such an Inspection also takes place! As you make the decision regarding a Termite Inspection, you will want to consider the following things:
- While the state you live in may not mandate a Termite Inspection, for your piece of mind it may prove to be a step worth taking.
- If you are the Home Seller, you may want to have a Termite Inspection done in advance to save time once the home is under serious consideration for purchase.
- There are several telltale signs the Inspector will be looking for. These include, but are not limited to:
- Mud Tubes
- Piles of Wings
- Damaged Wood
The cost of a pest inspection can vary greatly, depending on where you live and which company you use. Also, while the cost is typically incurred by the buyer, if the seller does, in fact, take the pro-active step of having one done in advance the expense would, of course, be theirs!
